China RoHS plans to add four new restrictions on phthalates

On March 14, 2022, the National Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s RoHS Electrical and Electronic Products Pollution Prevention and Control Standards Working Group held a meeting to discuss the revision of China’s RoHS standards. The working group has submitted the GB/T 26572-2011 standard revision list of “Limit Requirements for Restricted Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products”, and planned to add 4 ophthalmic hazardous substances (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DIBP). The revision is planned to be completed by the end of September 2022. At present, the enterprise questionnaire survey is being carried out, and the mandatory national standard “Requirements for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products” will also complete the standard project in early 2022. It is expected that the standard will be issued in 3-5 years.

Here, Anbotek reminds relevant enterprises to pay close attention to the progress of standards and regulations, strengthen raw material and factory inspection control, and timely check the content of harmful substances in products to ensure product compliance.
