ECHA announces 1 SVHC review substance

On March 4, 2022, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced a public comment on a potential Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs), and the comment period will end on April 19, 2022, during which all stakeholders can submit comments. Substances that pass the review will be included in the SVHC Candidate List as official substances.

Suggestion:

Enterprises should comply with the requirements of laws and regulations and fulfill the obligations stipulated by laws and regulations. According to the WFD requirements of the Waste Framework Directive, from January 5, 2021, if the content of SVHC substances in the article exceeds 0.1% (w/w), enterprises will be required to submit SCIP notification, and the SCIP notification information will be published on the ECHA official website. According to REACH, manufacturers or exporters are required to notify ECHA if the SVHC substance content in the article exceeds 0.1% (w/w) and the substance content in the article exceeds 1 ton/year;if the SVHC substance content in the product exceeds 0.1% (w/w), the information transfer obligation shall be fulfilled. The SVHC list is updated twice a year. As the SVHC list is constantly updated, enterprises face more and more management and control requirements. It is recommended that companies conduct investigations into their supply chains as early as possible to prepare for changes in regulations.
