Harmonized standards for four toy safety directives issued by the European Union

On 16 November 2021, the European Commission (EC) published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) implementation Resolution (EU) 2020/1992 updating the harmonized standards for reference in the Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC. Covering EN 71-2, EN 71-3, EN 71-4 and EN 71-13, the new harmonized standards come into effect as of the date of publication. To ensure sufficient time buffer for manufacturers, the previous harmonized standards will remain in use until May 15, 2022.
