How much do you know about ErP certification?

1.The Brief Introduction of ErP Certification:
The European Union’s Energy-Related Products Directive (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC) is an eco-design directive. It applies to most products that consume energy throughout their life cycle. The ErP Directive aims to promote the environmental performance of products consumption and the control of ecological environment pollution. It also encourage manufacturers and importers to offer consumers more energy efficient products. The scope of ErP certification includes testing the product to demonstrate that it consumes less energy than agreed limits ——once the test is passed, the product will be CE marked, allowing it to be sold within the EU.

2.The Importance of ERP Certification:
(1)Products bearing the CE mark and deemed to meet the requirements of the ErP Directive can be freely sold anywhere in the EU.
(2) All energy use and energy related products imported, marketed or sold in the EU must comply with the EU ErP Directive. Failure to do so may result in fines and product recalls.

3.The range of products involved in ERP certification:
(1)IT products: switching power supplies, routers, fiber optic machines, etc.
(2)Audio and video products: LCD TV, VCD, DVD, radio, etc.
(3)Lighting products: energy-saving lamps, LED lighting, table lamps, chandeliers, etc.
(4)Household appliances: rice cookers, electric ovens, hair straighteners, kettles, microwave ovens, etc.
(5)Electric tools products: electric welding machine, AC regulated power supply, transformer inverter, outdoor LED electronic advertising screen, electronic scale, etc.
(6)Car wireless products: car audio, car DVD, car monitor, car TV, car charger, etc.
