How much do you know about Korea KC certification?

1. The definition of KC certification:
KC certification is the safety certification system for electrical and electronic appliances in Korea. That is, KC logo certification. KC is a mandatory safety certification system implemented by the Korea Institute of Technology and Standards (KATS) on January 1, 2009 in accordance with the “Electrical Appliance Safety Management Act”.

2.Applicable product range:
The product range of KC certification generally includes electrical products above AC50 volts and below 1000 volts.

3.Two modes of KC certification:
KC Mark Certification Products List according to the “Korea Electrical Appliances Safety Management Law”, since January 1, 2009, electrical product safety certification has been divided into two types: compulsory certification and self-discipline (voluntary) certification.
(1)Compulsory certification means that all electronic products that are compulsory products must obtain KC Mark certification before they can be sold in the Korean market. They need to undergo factory inspections and product sampling tests every year.
(2)Self-regulatory (voluntary) certification means that all electronic products that are voluntary products only need to be tested to obtain a certificate, and do not need to undergo factory inspection. The certificate is valid for 5 years.
