The FCC has updated its certification and testing requirements for RF LED lighting products

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a document on April 26, 2022 regarding the latest certification and testing of radio frequency (RF) LED lighting products: KDB 640677 D01 RF LED Lighting v02. The purpose is to clarify how the FCC rules apply to these products and to ensure that the equipment does not cause harmful interference to radio communications services.

This revision mainly clarifies that the LED driver is tested under “four” different load output conditions, and the different outputs are changed through a representative lamp test fixture. The “four” different load output conditions are as follows:

(1) Maximum output voltage and minimum working output current;

(2) Maximum output current and minimum working voltage;

(3) Maximum working output power (maximum voltage and current);

(4) Minimum working output power (minimum voltage and current).
