WIFI 6 & WIFI 6E & WIFI 7 Introduction

      As the rollout of WIFI 6 accelerates, many users around the world are able to use WIFI 6 networks. However, following the launch of the new WIFI 6E in late 2020, more and more WIFI 6E chips and products are being introduced in 2021 and the latest WIFI 7 technology will be adopted in 2024.

WiFi 6

 WiFi6 refers to the sixth generation of WiFi technology, which is significantly improved in the following aspects compared to the fifth generation technology:

Technology protocol: 802.11ax technology is adopted;

Transmission speed: Supports higher 1024-QAM modulation mode, enabling theoretical transmission speeds of up to 1.2GB/s;

Applicability: supports 2.4G and 5G bands at the same time, which can better meet the needs of low-speed and high-speed devices, and improves the flexibility and adaptability of network selection;

 Security: WPA3 security protocol with higher security performance is used to better protect users’ privacy and data security;

Energy Consumption: TWT (Target Wake-up Time) function is introduced, allowing the communication duration to be set between the device and the wireless router, reducing the power consumption for searching signals and extending the endurance of the device;

WiFi 6E

WiFi6E also belongs to the sixth generation of WiFi technology, E means Extended, extended, compared to WiFi6 technology, there are the following two enhancements:

Frequency Band: The 6GHz band has been added, which is used from 5.925GHz to 6.425GHz in the EU market and from 5.925GHz to 7.125GHz in the US market;

Channels: the 6GHz band has 12 consecutive 160MHz signals or 24 80MHz channels.

WiFi 7

WiFi7 refers to the seventh generation of WiFi technology, which is significantly improved in the following aspects compared to the sixth generation technology:

 Protocol technology: 802.11be technology is used;

Transmission speed: higher 4096-QAM modulation mode is supported, with higher theoretical transmission speeds of up to 46GB/s;

Links: Multi-link operation is utilized, allowing devices to transmit and receive data over multiple links simultaneously to increase throughput, reduce latency, and improve reliability;

Transmission Bandwidth: Maximum bandwidth is increased to 320MHz for higher transmission speeds and more stable transmission channels.

User capacity: Multi-user MU-MIMO technology is introduced to increase network capacity, allowing multiple terminals to share the channel at the same time so that multiple devices can access the Internet at the same time.
