INMETRO is Brazil's national Accreditation Body, which is responsible for the development of Brazilian national standards. Brazilian product standards are largely based on IEC and ISO standards, which manufacturers who want to export to Brazil should refer to when designing their products. Products that meet Brazilian standards and other technical requirements must bear the mandatory INMETRO logo and the logo of an approved third party certification body before entering the Brazilian market.
